DT Competition for all!

Design your own Bird Feeder

As a part of RSPB's Big Schools' Birdwatch, there is a school competition taking place. The challenge is to design an appropriate bird feeder that will attract birds into your gardens.

There are many different materials you can use to make bird feeders. Below you will see some examples which you may get ideas from.

Things to consider:

your bird feeder design needs to be easy to clean
sturdy enough to withstand winter weather and the squirrels
think about the size carefully (no birds crowding)
long lasting feeder
make it attractive

Don't forget to label your design and state which materials you would use and how you will join it together. Write a sentence or two to explain why your design should be chosen. The DT ambassadors will be visiting each class with some examples and a copy of the designing sheet. Alternatively, you can download the design sheet using the link below.
