Year 3 & 4

Welcome to Year 3 and 4. Your child will be in one of three classes-Braille Class, Franklin Class or Newton Class. Below you will find lots of information to support your child's learning journey this year and lots of photographs of learning in action. 

Summer term 2024

Maths - Year 3 have been exploring with money, using coins to make different totals.

Year 3/4 enjoyed drawing outdoors in our new school garden.

History

We have started to learn about how the Romans invaded Britain and then settled in Britain

DT 

 

Our current DT topic is all about British inventors. We have started to research the inventions of; Alexander Graham Bell (telephones), Tim Berners-Lee (World, Wide, Web), W B Wilkinson (reinforced concrete) and Charles Mackintosh (waterproof fabric). 

Computing

 

In computing we have been understanding what a branching database is and how to create one. We used yes/no questions to sort objects into group.

Rock Kidz paid us a visit following Anti-Bullying week. This year's theme was 'Make a Noise'. As usual, the children had a fantastic time.

The children have been busy in English reading 'Charlotte's Web' and producing writing based on the story.

This term, the children have been building their knowledge and understanding of addition and subtraction.
